Panel of Experts Set to Discuss Integration of Technology in Schools on EdTech Mondays

The July 2025 edition of EdTech Mondays Ethiopia will tackle one of the most pressing issues in contemporary education: how to ensure the meaningful integration of educational technology in schools. 

Set to air at 8:10 p.m. EAT on Monday, July 28, 2025, via Fana FM 98.1 and ten affiliated radio stations across the country, the episode promises to deliver insights into how digital tools can go beyond novelty to become transformative instruments in teaching and learning.

This month’s show, as usual, will bring together a panel of experts who will explore how EdTech, when strategically deployed, can enhance learning outcomes, foster student engagement, and develop vital 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and digital literacy. 

The discussion will also address barriers to equity in EdTech, recognizing that access to devices, reliable internet, and ongoing technical support remains uneven across Ethiopia. Additionally, panelists will touch on the importance of institutionalizing systems that gather regular feedback from students and teachers alike to measure what works, what doesn’t, and how to improve EdTech tools over time. They will also highlight key areas of educational research that deserve more focus, particularly those that study the effectiveness of technology in diverse classroom settings.

EdTech Mondays is an Africa-wide initiative by the Mastercard Foundation aimed at fostering dialogue on the role of technology in education. In Ethiopia, the program is locally produced by Shega Media and Technology in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, with an emphasis on local context, challenges, and opportunities.
