The September edition of EdTech Mondays Ethiopia, set to air on Monday, 29 September 2025, at 8:10 p.m. EAT on Fana FM 98.1 and ten partner stations across Ethiopia, will examine the pivotal role of government in shaping the country’s EdTech ecosystem from fostering innovation to ensuring high-quality, locally relevant educational content.
As digital learning tools expand across Ethiopia, policymakers face the challenge of creating an inclusive ecosystem that balances innovation, oversight, and cultural relevance. The discussion will bring together voices from government, the private sector, and the education community to explore strategies for developing content that resonates with learners, extending access, and encouraging private sector investment.
The program also looks to tackle key questions for policymakers and regulators, including how to balance innovation with content quality, ensure initiatives are sustainable and inclusive, develop culturally relevant materials, and expand access to rural and underserved areas. Panelists will further discuss approaches to incentivize private sector investment in low-income regions while maintaining oversight and quality assurance amid rapid technological change.
Moderated by journalist and host Rediet Meshesha, the conversation will draw lessons from international experiences to inform Ethiopia’s EdTech policies.
Produced by Shega Media & Technology in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation Ethiopia office, EdTech Mondays continues to provide a platform for informed dialogue on technology in education, building on previous discussions around blended learning, teacher capacity, and digital infrastructure.
