The 2024 GoGettaz Agripreneur Competition is now open, inviting African agrifood entrepreneurs across the continent to showcase their startup ventures.

Organized by GoGettaz Africa, the competition empowers and celebrates the next generation of game-changers in the African agri-food sector by fostering innovation in agriculture and food systems. It aims to enhance food security, access to nutritious food, create job opportunities, empower rural communities, and promote sustainable agricultural practices that address climate change challenges.

The prize recognizes founders aged 18–35 with the vision to establish sustainable, scalable businesses, drive resilience, increase food security, and create jobs in the agrifood sector.

Applications are open from April 8 to June 10, 2024. To be eligible, startups must demonstrate a positive social and/or environmental impact along with their commercial viability. Early-stage ventures (ideation, seed, or Series A funding stage) are encouraged to apply.

The grand prize winners will receive a total of $100,000 to propel their agri-food venture to the next level. The judges want to hear from businesses that are:

  • Innovative
  • Has market potential and traction
  • Has an inspiring and investible team
  • Impactful

The top GoGettaz agripreneurs will get flights, accommodation, and visas for their trip to pitch their businesses at the GoGettaz Finals at the Africa Food Systems Forum Summit. The 2024 AFSF Summit will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, in September.

GoGettaz finalists have an opportunity to connect with potential investors, partners, and collaborators at the AFSF Agribusiness Dealroom, Africa’s largest platform for agri-business matchmaking.

Top contestants will also have the opportunity to apply for the exclusive 6-month GoGettaz Africa Leadership Program, designed to empower emerging leaders with the skills and network necessary to grow themselves and their businesses.

Established in 2018, GoGettaz Africa supports and accelerates the growth of high-impact entrepreneurs across Africa.
