Garri Logistics and TelliScope, two Ethiopian startups using AI to develop innovative solutions, have secured spots in the first cohort of Google for Startups Accelerator’s latest program in Africa, AI First.
In this equity-free, 10-week accelerator program, Garri and TelliScope will join nine other African startups that are crafting AI-driven solutions tailored for Africa.
Garri Logistics is as a digital freight brokerage and transport service in Ethiopia, while TelliScope is an AI-powered market intelligence and business relationship management platform, offering insights for go-to-market strategies in emerging markets.
This marks Garri Logistics’ second participation in a Google-run program, following its involvement in the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund (BFF) in 2022.
The selected startups in the AI First program receive valuable resources, including access to Google engineers, technical project partnerships, expert advice and mentorships. The cohort will also receive a $350k in Google Cloud Credits.
The program will conclude in November 2023, giving the startups the opportunity to pitch their projects to Google teams, mentors, venture capitalists, and other stakeholders from the tech ecosystem.
