ConDigital, an Ethiopian Construction Technology Startup, raised pre-seed funding and plans to expand to other African countries including Kenya.
ConDigital provides an end-to-end platform that facilitates the management of construction company operations from procurement and planning to reports and processing of payroll.
ConDigital Says their platform is very detailed, and easy-to-use which allows users to cut construction costs by up to 10% and work hours by up to 30%.
The startup closed an undisclosed pre-seed round led by an investor in the US and other angel investors from East Africa, Europe, and Asia.
Thie round was raised to cement the companies presence in Ethiopia and begin to cut across the East African region, which accounts for a large amount of the continent’s construction industry growth. In addition, the investment raised is will also be used on product development.
It is remembered that The Baobab Network , an accelerator that backs early-stage ventures across Africa and provided a $25,000 funding along with a customized accelerator programme and access to a global network of corporate partners and investors.
Amon, CTO of ConDigital said, “We saw the difficulty of managing a construction company and we realized that the best way to resolve them was to inject technology in the space, we are confident the solution will greatly improve the efficiency in the sector”
Eyoel, Design Director of ConDigital said added “Not just efficiency but also productivity and transparency in managing the day to day of the construction industry”
Venture Partner at The Baobab Network, Christine Namara, said, “Ethiopia, and the whole East African region, presents immense potential for solutions in the construction industry and the ConDigital team identified that early. This raise will allow the team to further develop the product and drive up their customer base in Ethiopia and Kenya.”
ConDigital has also been able to deploy two versions of three app, the light Condigital Projects that is focused solely on the engineering elements of managing construction projects and allows for easy self-onboarding and use; and the enterprise version that covers everything including the operational aspect of human capital management and soon, managing payments.
As momentum peaks up in the Ethiopian ecosystem around online payment along with the opening up of the telco space, the startup believes it is poised and well-positioned to revolutionize the construction industry in East Africa and beyond.
Abel, CEO of Condigita said, “As Amon and Eyoel alluded to, we created ConDigital to serve real issues that have dire effects on our country and continent. Infrastructure is at the heart of the African renaissance; we envision that ConDigital will play a great role in making it efficient. We are happy and extremely lucky to receive support from investors whose years of expertise in SaaS and African Market are solid. Their insight and advisory will serve as fuel for our growth. We are excited for the future.”
