The eWTP hub, the second in Africa after Rwanda is expected to give Ethiopian small and medium enterprises a big market access in China and expose Ethiopians agricultural products directly to Chinese consumers. In line with this , it will also offer support in smart logistics and fulfillment, and talent training, the e-commerce.
The part of this agreement was also providing a capacity building and training opportunities such as a specialized programs for Ethiopian entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Now, Alibaba Officially Launches the Netpreneur Training in collaboration with Ministry of Innovation and Technology.
Rwanda, the first African Country to Join eWTP also sent it’s entrepreneurs for this program previosuly.
The Alibaba Netpreneur Training program will provide Ethiopian entrepreneurs and business leaders an opportunity to learn and explore how to harness digital technology to positively transform their businesses and the local economy. The 10-day program in Alibaba’s headquarters in Hangzhou, China, is organized by Alibaba Business School for mission-driven entrepreneurs and leaders in Ethiopia who are committed to building strong businesses for lasting success and contributing to the development of Ethiopia.
The training will happen in March 15 – March 25, 2020 at Alibaba’s headquarters in Hangzhou, China for 10 days It is expected that 30 – 40 business Founders in Ethiopia will be part of this program.
They are looking for founder/co-founder or business owner of an officially registered venture that has been in operation for at least 2 years who can provide official business license and younger than 45 years. Applicants should also speak English Fluently and be able to provide provide at least 1 referral in there application.

It is remembered that during his visit to Ethiopia, Jack Ma also announced that the next Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative will take place in Ethiopia in Nov 2020 with a Prize of $100 Million to go which is ten times bigger than this year prize.
