Shega Media and Technology PLC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Startup Guide as a community partner to publish Startup Guide Book Addis Abeba.
Startup Guide is a Europe-based publishing and media company that produces guidebooks and online content to help entrepreneurs navigate and connect with different startup scenes across the world.
Startup Guide Addis Abeba is the first insider’s guide to exploring entrepreneurship and innovation in Addis Abeba.
The handbook cuts through the clutter to give you essential data, inspiring startup stories, insights on major trends, and interviews with the movers and shakers of Addis Abeba’s entrepreneurial and creative scene.
There will be 5,000 copies that will get printed and distributed for free to partners, stakeholders, events, community builders, accelerators, incubators workspaces, investors, VC, etc. Furthermore, it will be distributed globally to visitors of trade fairs and events (like SXSW, TechCrunch, Viva Tech, Pioneers, Web Summit, CES, Slush etc). As the go-to book for Addis Abeba’s startup and innovation scene, Startup Guide Addis Abeba aims to bring the local community together by putting a spotlight on prominent founders, emerging technologies as well as offering practical information and tips on how to start a business, invest and discover Addis Abeba’s entrepreneurial side. It will also give readers the opportunity to get connected and inspired by the exciting startups, experts, and initiatives in the city right now.
Startup Guide City books are just like a typical guide book are packed with essential information about doing business in the city or region, as well as profiles of startups, Support Organizations, Incubators, co-working spaces and programs based there. It also contains insightful interviews with local experts and inspiring stories of entrepreneurship.
Startup Guide books have been produced in about 45 major innovation cities all over the world including Nairobi, Copenhagen, London, Acra, Tel Aviv, Cairo, Tokyo, and New York. Next in line is Addis Abeba.
As the media platform promoting the startup and technology ecosystem in Ethiopia, we at Shega believe it is imperative to give Addis Abeba and local key players international awareness by producing the first Startup Guide book for Ethiopia.
