The Ethiopian Web3 Foundation, in collaboration with partners, is aiming to propel Ethiopia into the Web3 arena with the introduction of Ethiopia’s largest Web3 education program to date. This initiative seeks to provide aspiring developers with the necessary skills and knowledge essential for success in the evolving digital landscape of the future.

The program organized by the Web3 Foundation, in partnership with Invest for Jobs, Sequa, A|Q Forensic, iceaddis, and Eaglelion System Technology, will educate 100 aspiring Web3 developers and will kick off on March 1st.

‘This is the first of its kind program to provide web3 training on such a large scale.’  Said Dawit Megistu, advisor to the Ethiopian Web3 Foundation.

Over 12 weeks, participants will engage in an immersive learning experience comprising theoretical and practical lessons, hackathons, and workshops. The curriculum aims to equip students with the necessary skills and insights to thrive in the Web3 and blockchain domains.

The curriculum is designed to be accessible to learners with a basic understanding of computer programming and aspiring to enter the realm of web3 development. Notable trainers include Agniva Mahata, a blockchain developer, Albert Quehenburger, the CEO of AIQ Forensics; and Piers Nand, a distinguished tech entrepreneur. These experts will convene in Ethiopia to lead the program.

“This is an enriching educational journey with comprehensive learning modules and a carefully curated curriculum designed to empower web3 enthusiasts with essential skills and knowledge,” Dawit told Shega.

“Our goal is to create the ultimate blockchain hub in Ethiopia,” added Dawit.

Accredited certification and guaranteed employment opportunities will be arranged together with implementing partners and global web3 networks. Additionally, the top three projects will receive financial rewards.

The courses range from Blockchain Basics, where one can learn the foundational concepts, to Advanced Smart Contract Development: where students learn industry-level design patterns, techniques, and tools used by real-life large-scale applications to upgrade their smart contract development skills for bringing their ideas and solutions to life.

The model also covers a deep dive into decentralization, wallets, security insights, and security from top to bottom:

“Interested individuals should enroll in the program by registering online and be part of this transformative journey.

The financial cost of the training is set at 4,000 birr with most of the program’s cost covered by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.
