Women-Led Startups in Ethiopia: Join SEED-OIH Cohort 6 for Training, Mentorship & Funding

Women entrepreneurs in Axum, Bishoftu, Kombolcha, Wolkite, or Gondar can now apply for the SEED-OIH Cohort 6 incubation program—offering training, mentorship, and funding access. Deadline: June 30.

Are you a woman entrepreneur or part of a startup improving the lives of women and girls in Ethiopia? The SEED Women-Focused Startup Incubation Program (SEED-OIH Cohort 6) is now accepting applications!

 

This round is specially designed to support women entrepreneurs, Startups led by women, Teams building solutions that improve the lives of women and girls. 

 

If you're based in Axum, Bishoftu, Kombolcha, Wolkite, or Gondar, this is your chance to join a program rooted in local knowledge and built for women who are ready to scale meaningful impact. 

 

What SEED-OIH Cohort 6 Offers:

  • Tailored Business Training: Practical, locally grounded, and delivered in a way that respects your context.
  • Dedicated Mentorship: Work with experienced mentors who understand the challenges and opportunities of your region.
  • Funding Access: Get connected to funding opportunities aligned with your business stage and growth goals.

 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Applicants must have a business idea or an exciting business with not more than two years in business. 
  • Applicants must be residents of Ethiopia.
  • Applicants can apply either individually or as a team, with a maximum team size of three members.
  • Applicants must have completed at least 10th grade of education. (if selected need to provide the educational certificates)
  • Applicants must be between 22 to 35 years of age.

 

The Sustainable Employment through Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) Program is a 5 years program designed in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and a consortium of organizations led by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI). The Program aspires in creating Dignified and Fulfilling Jobs for 1 million youth and women in Ethiopia.
