The challenge is particularly interested in innovations around:
- Climate & Health: tools for air quality monitoring, cooling technologies, AI-driven climate-health data platforms, disease prevention solutions, and community engagement platforms.
- Adaptation & Resilience: AI-powered early warning systems, blockchain-based disaster verification, climate-smart insurance, community-level energy resilience, and anticipatory action models.
Selected start-ups will receive:
- 10 hours of technical mentoring (frontier tech, DEI, open source, business development, etc.)
- Pitch readiness support from UNICEF experts
- Global exposure & collaboration opportunities with UNICEF partners
- Potential access to UNICEF Venture Fund pathways
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a for-profit company registered in a UNICEF programme country
- Have a working prototype/MVP with promising results
- Open source (or willing to become open source)
- Capable of generating real-time measurable data
- Solutions must directly improve children’s wellbeing
