Scaling African Healthcare: Join the HGS Accelerator Cohort 5

The African Union Development Agency - NEPAD, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is inviting applications from African entrepreneurs tackling healthcare challenges to participate in the fifth cohort of its Home-Grown Solutions (HGS) Accelerator program. This program specifically supports established and rapidly growing healthcare businesses across the continent.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered, your company must:

1. Be a for-profit entity in the growth or mature stage of its development.
2. Be actively contributing to the improvement of Africa's healthcare systems.
3. Qualify as a "Home-Grown Solution," emphasizing locally developed and impactful innovations. 

Program Overview 

The HGS Accelerator, with a successful track record of supporting 38 healthcare businesses since 2021, provides a four-month customized program. This intensive support focuses on three key areas:

• Technical and Contextual Advisory: Gaining expert guidance tailored to your specific business needs.
• Investment Readiness: Preparing your company for attracting investment and securing funding.
• Strategic Partner Matching: Connecting you with relevant organizations and individuals for collaboration and growth.

This year, the program particularly encourages applications from healthcare companies seeking to expand their reach across borders and contribute significantly to Africa's socio-economic development.

Application Process 

Interested entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit their applications through the official HGS Accelerator website by February 28, 2025. Applications should include:

• A comprehensive project proposal outlining your business plan and objectives.
• Detailed information about your team, including their expertise and experience.
• Evidence demonstrating the positive impact of your healthcare solution.
