Habesha Creative Lab, an Ethiopian incubator for the creative and cultural sectors, is offering an Incubation & Acceleration Program. This program provides mentorship, funding, and workspace opportunities to help bring innovative ideas to life. They focus on nurturing talents in fields like gaming, AI, and Virtual Reality. 

Who can apply?

• Individuals or teams based in Addis Ababa.
• Ages 18-45 (priority given to applicants under 30).
• Working on projects in XR/VR, Gaming, 3D, AI, Projection Mapping, Animation, and related fields.
• Projects can be standalone or part of an existing startup/business.
• Incubation applicants must commit 10-20 hours per week during the first 16 weeks.
• Acceleration applicants must commit 10-20 hours per week during the first 8 weeks.

What are the benefits? 

The program offers two main tracks: Incubation and Acceleration. The Incubation Track is a 3-12 month program that includes 20 weeks of soft and hard skills development, 3 weeks of intensive technical training, coaching and mentorship, access to international experts, and a grant of 3,000 to 5,000 euros. The Acceleration Track focuses on business scaling and investment readiness over 3-12 months, with 3 weeks of intensive technical training, 9 months of coaching and mentoring, access to global training programs, and a grant of 5,000 to 10,000 euros. 

In addition to these track-specific benefits, participants also enjoy general benefits such as workspace at Alliance Ethio-Française, expert mentorship and coaching, funding and grant opportunities, networking and international market access, and business development and digital marketing training. Furthermore, project-specific benefits include technical and business training (both online and in-person), one-on-one mentorship with industry experts, networking with local and international market leaders, business development, digital marketing, and fundraising training, as well as demo day and pitching opportunities.
