The GSMA has officially launched a new funding round for 2026, specifically targeting innovators who use mobile technology to drive the "Green Transition."
The fund is designed to tackle the "dual challenge" of climate change and digital inequality. It focuses on two core pillars. 1, Clean Energy Access: Supporting business models that use mobile technology (e.g., smart metering, IoT, mobile payments) to provide affordable renewable energy to underserved communities. 2. Device Circularity: Scaling solutions that extend the life of mobile devices (e.g., refurbishment, repair, e-waste recycling) to reduce environmental impact and make handsets more affordable for the "unconnected."
