Goethe-Institut Mobility Grants: €4,000 for Artists Across Africa & Europe

Applications are now open for the Goethe-Institut Mobility Grants, offering artists across Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe up to €4,000 to support mobility, collaboration, and international cultural exchange.

The Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture Sub-Saharan Africa Mobility Grant Scheme is now open for applications. Running from 2025 to 2028, the €8 million program offers up to 195 short-term grants supporting physical, digital, and hybrid mobility for artists and cultural professionals across Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe. 

 

Implemented by the Goethe-Institut in partnership with Expertise France and Institut français, the scheme encourages Africa-Africa and Africa-Europe collaboration, co-creation, and professional exchange.

Eligibility

  • Artists and cultural professionals based in Sub-Saharan Africa or EU member states
  • Active in visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, film, media arts, heritage, design, architecture, fashion, or related disciplines
  • Committed to projects fostering dialogue and equitable partnerships between African and European cultural actors


Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with quarterly deadlines. The mobility period follows a rolling schedule with intermediate cut-offs. This cycle will pause in December 2025 and resume early in 2026.
