The Digital & Green Challenger is an acceleration program for bold early-stage startups registered in Kenya, Uganda, or Ethiopia. It targets digital, green, and circular innovations that drive sustainability and impact across Africa.
Run by Civitta in collaboration with mLab, GrowthAfrica, Latitude59, and Startup Wise Guys, the program helps founders refine their business models, boost investment readiness, and unlock new growth opportunities. Participants gain access to expert mentorship, investor training, and global exposure connecting them to markets, investors, and lasting networks. The journey culminates in a pitch competition, where the top three startups share a €15,000 prize pool.
Eligibility Criteria
- Early-stage startups registered and operating in Kenya, Uganda, or Ethiopia.
- Founding teams building digital, green, and/or circular economy solutions addressing one or more strategic focus areas.
- Startups should be in the earlier phases of business development, looking to scale and enhance investment readiness.

- Training and support to refine fundraising strategies, build compelling pitches, and connect with potential investors and corporate partners.
- Up to 25 startups form a cohort receiving structured learning journeys and growing their visibility through regional and global platforms, including Latitude59 events.
- Travel support for 3-6 startups to attend Latitude59 events in Nairobi (December 2025) and Estonia (May 2026).
- Competitive grant awards: Top 3 startups will earn a share of a €15,000 prize pool to support their growth and impact.
- Membership in a growing network of African startups driving digital and green innovation.
