FemFocus is a large‑scale, multi‑year grant initiative designed to strengthen women’s economic empowerment and entrepreneurship across Africa. The programme provides funding and capacity support to civil society organisations (CSOs) that implement projects focused on improving business environments for women, enhancing access to markets and finance, and addressing structural barriers to women’s economic participation.

• Total programme budget: ~€54,835,000
• Individual project grants: €18,260,055 – €27,417,500
Eligibility
- Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) legally registered either in the Netherlands or in a low‑ or middle‑income country listed by OECD‑DAC
- Minimum five years of experience in capacity strengthening and financial support for partners in LMICs
- Must demonstrate expertise in women’s economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, or related policy themes
- Organizations must plan activities covering at least two eligible countries (Egypt, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Benin, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Uganda, Tunisia, DRC)
- Applicants must have robust governance, financial management systems, and monitoring frameworks
How to Apply
- Civil society organisations can apply for one of the instruments. Grants are awarded through a quality-based tender.
- Application window: 16 October (12:00 CEST) to 7 January 2026 (23:59 CEST).
- Submit in English using the prescribed forms and budget model to& [email protected], stating “application FemFocus (+ name of instrument).”
