Applications are now open for the Social & Inclusive Business Camp (SIBC 2026), a flagship acceleration and capacity-building program by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group Campus, calling East African energy entrepreneurs ready to scale impactful solutions.
The SIBC 2026 East Africa Energy Transition edition supports ventures working across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Tanzania, with a focus on on- and off-grid energy access, clean cooking technologies, renewable energy innovation, and energy efficiency and sufficiency.
Eligibility Criteria
- Hold a high-responsibility role within your organization (founder, co-founder, director, or equivalent decision-maker)
- Your organization must be legally registered in at least one of the five target countries: Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, or Tanzania
- Organization must have been active for at least 3 years with a proven track record
- Demonstrate a clear social and environmental mission directly related to energy transition in East Africa
- Organization must generate all or part of its income from commercial activity (not donor-dependent)
- Must be actively developing in new territories at national or international level
- Must be fully available to participate in the entire 6-month hybrid program
