African Climate Innovation Challenge 2025: Up to $10,000 for Youth-Led Climate Startups

The African Climate Innovation Challenge 2025 offers up to $10,000 for youth-led African startups. Apply by July 6th to fund your climate change solutions.

Applications are open for the African Climate Innovation Challenge (ACIC) 2025. This initiative provides up to $10,000 in prize money for youth-led startups addressing climate change in Africa.  

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be legally registered in their country.
  • Consist of at least two team members, all of African descent and based in Africa, aged 18 to 35 years.
  • Focus on climate change mitigation and/or adaptation.
  • Be at the prototype or Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage; ideation-stage projects are not eligible.
  • Ensure all team members are proficient in English or French.
  • Female-led teams and teams with 40-50% female participants are encouraged.

 

Benefits 

  • Up to $10,000 in prize money for winning startups to directly implement their innovative start-up ideas in their communities. 
  • Tailor-made curriculum for all participants to further develop their startups.
  • Pitch your startup and solutions at a gathering of major climate stakeholders and an international audience.

 

The African Climate Innovation Challenge supports early-stage climate-focused ventures aiming to build community resilience across Africa. Participants will receive a tailored curriculum for startup development and opportunities to present their solutions to climate stakeholders. The program is a collaborative effort by 3 E's 4 Africa (3E4A), Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO), and Startup Lounge Africa (SLA).
