The Future Conservationist Awards, run by the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP), support early‑career conservationists around the world to lead field projects aimed at protecting threatened species and ecosystems. Successful applicants receive seed funding, training, technical guidance, and long‑term mentorship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects must be based in a CLP‑eligible low‑ or middle‑income country (Ethiopia qualifies).
- Project teams must include at least 3 people.
- All team members should be early‑career conservationists (no more than 5 years’ professional experience in conservation).
- Projects must aim at protecting globally threatened species or ecosystems (per IUCN Red List) or address urgent conservation needs.
- Proposed project should be new (not continuation of existing project), 3–12 months duration and deliver tangible conservation outcomes.
