The first call for digital entrepreneurs in Africa interested in working in the health sector has been made by Digital Square, a worldwide digital health initiative financed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and other donors.
The call, which seeks to connect local solutions to financial assistance, technical resources, and opportunities to scale for innovative entrepreneurs, is open to African businesses, nonprofit organizations, social and individual entrepreneurs with software, content, and/or services.
Qualifying respondents will become part of a continent-wide list shared with donors, investors, and implementing partners worldwide. They will also be published as promising African digital health entrepreneurs and promoted widely across the global health community.
Digital Square will offer qualified respondents an organizational capacity self-assessment tool that supports organizations in becoming direct recipients of USAID funding and can be used to mobilize resources among a broader set of partners to support organizational capacity development and facilitate becoming direct recipients of international funding sources.
Additionally, a subset of respondents will be invited to participate in the first round of a Digital Health Ecosystem project.
Click here to apply for the call with a deadline of entries on August 12, 2022.
