Antler works by identifying a group of aspiring entrepreneurs, matching them with co-founders, and helping them start up companies by providing funding and expertise in product management, legal matters and customer validation

Antler, a singapore based talent incubator and startup generator, is coming to Addis and Nairobi as they expand to East Africa.

They are currently looking for VC Partner and Technical Partner.

Antler identifies and recruit aspiring entrepreneur, match them with co-founders and support them to start companies. They provide funding and expertise in product management, legal matters and customer validation. They accept individuals who might have business ideas or not not in teams and evaluate based one personal skills.

“We select the most passionate aspiring entrepreneurs, help them find the right co-founder and connect them to a mentor network of fitting business and academic subject matter experts worldwide.”

The accepted talents go through five month program and final the start-ups will pitch their business to a selected group of investors to secure seed funding for further growth.

Antler was started in 2017 in Singapore by McKinsey, Google, Spotify, Harvard, MIT and

Stanford alumni who went on to found successful enterprises around the world.

They are present in Singapore, Stockholm, Amsterdam, London and Sydney. They are now coming to East Africa, and are looking for VC Partners that will be working across Addis Ababa and Nairobi.

 

About the VC Partner:

The VC Partner role is a critical part of our management team in East Africa, and a unique opportunity to join a solid team with a great track record who is looking to build world changing companies at a global scale.

The role will be instrumental in the success of the 5-10 technology companies Antler will be part of building each year in East Africa, by providing guidance and coaching to the exceptionally talented people that joins Antler to become founders. There are three components to the VC Partner’s role:

  • Support the establishment of the Antler East Africa Fund,
  • Set up to invest in the Antler generated companies as well as existing tech startups in the region
  • Support Antler’s day-to-day local operations Support co-founding teams in developing disruptive products and suitable go-to-market strategies tailored to East Africa

About Technical Partner Role:

The Technical Partner role is a critical part of our management team in East Africa, and a unique opportunity to join a solid team with a great track record who is looking to build world changing companies at a global scale.

The role will be instrumental in the success of the 5-10 technology companies Antler will be part of building each year in East Africa, by providing guidance and coaching to the exceptionally talented people that joins Antler to become founders.

There are three components to the Technical Partner’s role:

  • Support ideation by identifying high potential tech opportunities for Antler in East Africa
  • Support co-founding teams in developing disruptive products, bringing in the best tech practices and strategies to Antler’s portfolio companies, and provide expert technical advice and solutions (coding, architecture, scaling etc.)
  • Evaluate applicants to ensure all founders joining Antler are top quality. Part of the role would involve close work with the recruiting team to strategize and help in interviewing and selecting the best tech founders and later mentor and advise them to build amazing companies
