Ride-hailing Service Providers in Addis Ababa

While Ethiopia's electronic taxi hailing service industry remains less a decade old , a host of companies have emerged competing in the niche subsector. With flag down prices competitively set at around 100 birr , companies carve up market share based on convenience and ease of use. Some have opted to make their mark by catering to corporate clients while others work to aggressively maximize their market share. Two companies(Feres and Ride) dominate a bulk of the market share through a growing list of drivers and an expanding set of services. Over a dozen companies have entered and left the sector despite the constant entry of new firms into the landscape. Taxi hailing remains one of the biggest contributors to the capital's budding gig economy.
