Export Performance of Ethiopia (2020/21)

Ethiopia earned 3.61 billion dollars in export revenue during the year with coffee contributing nearly a quarter of the amount. The year also saw export earnings from gold grow significantly as international prices hiked and local volume increased. Europe remained the primary destination for Ethiopia's exports with Asia following closely with 31% of the imports. However, commodity exports remain the major contributor to Ethiopia's earnings while being subject to fluctuations in international prices. Horticulture exports led by commercial flower farms are contributing an increasing volume to the total export stock.
