Ethio Telecom's Data & Internet Users Growth Over 11 years-2022

The state-owned Ethio Telecom has invested heavily over the past few years for the construction of an expansive network infrastructure. Heavy investments have yielded quick gains as the number of Ethiopians with internet access have grown nearly 100 fold in ten years. Despite the entrance of a foreign competitor in late 2022 , Ethio-tel maintains a steady and growing hold on the telecommunications sector. A marked drop in the prices of smartphones and data costs has also allowed the expanding internet coverage to be accessible to new population segments.
