Ethio-Telecom Overview in 2023

As one half of the telecommunications sector in Ethiopia, the state-owned Ethio-telecom commands a majority share of the market it shares with Safaricom Ethiopia. Ethio-telecom has over 75 million mobile subscribers and a nearly 99% cell coverage. It's recent foray into the mobile money business has also been successful onboarding nearly 45 million users in three years. An expansive physical infrastructure which includes two domestic satellites,22,000 KMs of fiber and above 7,000 cell towers has allowed the 130-year-old enterprise to consistently increase its revenue.
